Prophecy Thread of Week 13

Noah Webster's 1828 Dictionary Definition of Truth:
Conformity to fact or reality; exact accordance with that which is, or has been, or shall be. The truth of history constitutes its whole value. We rely on the truth of the scriptural prophecies.

ISRAEL WILL DESPOIL EGYPT

When time gets closer to a promise fulfillment, there are more details added. When Abram was getting closer to Isaac’s birth, God renewed the promise and added more details. This time He stated Abram’s descendants would be in a foreign land four generations (Gen 15:16) and that when they came out they would plunder their captors. God is just, and the Israelites received their wages from the Egyptians who tried to steal it from them. We too will receive just reward, if not in this life then in the next.

PROMISED

GOD’S PROMISE RENEWED WITH ABRAM GIVEN IN DETAIL

1912 BC (U)

Gen 15:14 But I will punish the nation they serve as slaves, and afterward they will come out with great possessions.

MOSES AND THE BURNING BUSH AT MOUNT SINAI

1507 BC, 1491 BC (U)

Exo 3:22 Every woman is to ask her neighbor and any woman living in her house for articles of silver and gold and for clothing, which you will put on your sons and daughters. And so you will plunder the Egyptians.”

FULFILLED

THE HEBREWS ARE REPAID FOR YEARS OF SLAVERY

1507 BC, 1491 BC (U)

Exo 12:36 The LORD had made the Egyptians favorably disposed toward the people, and they gave them what they asked for; so they plundered the Egyptians.

Prophecies declared are in blue, prophecies fulfilled are in red, prophecies currently being fulfilled are in green, and prophecies to be fulfilled are in orange. Bold historical context dates are from Jeff Swanson's The Plan dating system, and dates marked (U) are Archbishop Ussher's 1658 dating system.
** The date of this prophecy is in its referential context: the verse has been moved to the time frame of its contextual orientation.
