Expectations were exceeded as 166 runners put up the $111,111 buy-in yesterday to take part in event #47, One Drop High Roller No-Limit Hold’em.

According to WSOP.com, the tournament generated a massive prizepool of $17.8 million, granting the top 5 finishers over $1 million in earnings and the overall winner a haul of $4.8 million.

iPoker, Full Tilt Jostle for Second Place in Cash Game Traffic

Following a two month period of Full Tilt Poker enjoying a clear lead over the pack, the poker room is now fighting neck-and-neck with the iPoker network for the silver crown.

According to the latest 7-day moving average of cash game traffic observed by independent monitor PokerScout, (produced above via pokerfuse PRO), the two poker rooms have had an average of approximately 2400 concurrent seats filled in cash games in the last week, and the two have traded places more than once.

888 Forces Removal of all Data from Sharkscope

Tourney dataminer forced to pull all historical data from the website, as 888 rejects any form of "opt-in" compromise.

888poker has forced popular public tournament tracking site SharkScope to stop tracking all its poker tournaments, and remove all historical data.

According to a post published on the official SharkScope blog on Wednesday, 888 rejected all comprises, such as adopting an “opt-in” system, and required that the site remove all mention of the poker network.

At the Time of Ongame’s Sale, Just 31% of Player Funds were Held in Cash

A rare glimpse into acquisition financials shows the lack of player fund protection under certain regulations • New owner Amaya assures that player funds are now segregated

The snapshot of Ongame financials presented in Amaya Gaming Group’s first quarter report show that, on the day of acquisition from bwin.party in November 2012, the site held only 31% of the cash required to cover player deposits.

In total, there was $15.7m in user funds held on deposit, and only $4.9m held in “cash and cash equivalents,” when the business changed hands.

Poker Pros Rally For Kevin “Phwap” Boudreau

The family of 25 year old professional poker player Kevin “Phwap” Boudreau have established a Recovery Fundraiser after a brain hemorrhage and subsequent surgery last week has left Kevin hospitalized in an induced coma in a Las Vegas facility.

Currently in critical condition in an ICU, Kevin’s family is looking for financial help in order to transport him from Vegas to Colorado where he can be better looked after and placed in a more suitable long term care facility.
