THE PRICE OF POWER: Remember that extended power outage after Hurricane Ida? Entergy New Orleans on Friday unveiled a sweeping plan that would harden 33,000 of its structures and 650 miles of power lines to minimize similar widespread misery. If enacted, the utility predicts, the plan could save customers $2.6 billion over 50 years - but at a cost of $1.3 billion. (Want more business news? THE BENSON EMPIRE: New Orleans Saints and Pelicans owner Gayle Benson is interested in buying yet another symbol of New Orleans: the Chris Owens Club on Bourbon Street. The property includes small apartments on the floors above the late entertainer’s nightclub, and tenants have been seen moving out in recent days, in anticipation of a potential sale.
THE REVEAL: The primary task for the Walt Disney Imagineers gathered at Preservation Hall in New Orleans on Friday was twofold: Disclose, at long last, the name of their “Princess and the Frog” retheming of the Splash Mountain attractions at Disneyland and Walt Disney World, and announce a tentative opening date. They did both.
