Coming up this weekend
Our live coverage this weekend starts at 11pm (all times GMT) on Friday with round-by-round updates on the heavyweight boxing clash between Anthony Joshua and Francis Ngannou. The former MMA fighter impressed on his debut with a narrow defeat to Tyson Fury and will be looking for a statement performance in Saudi Arabia.

Into a stacked Saturday, we open with day three of the cricket in India at 4am, where England's batters must improve dramatically to avoid defeat in the fifth Test. We switch to football at 12.30pm when Manchester United host Everton in the Premier League, followed by our Saturday football clockwatch at 3pm. At 5.15pm Brighton host Manchester United in the Women's FA Cup and at 5.30pm Arsenal have the chance to go top of the Premier League – for at least one night – when they take on struggling Brentford at home. It's a big day in the Six Nations, too, with Italy v Scotland at 2.15pm before the big one at Twickenham, when Ireland aim to wrap up the title against England at 4.45pm. Sandwiched in among the rugby and football is the F1 Saudi Arabia Grand Prix. We'll have lap-by-lap updates at 5pm. Day three of the second Test between New Zealand and Australia rounds off the live action on Saturday at 10pm.

Sunday's action will open at 4am if England are still in contention against India on day four of the fifth Test. At 1pm we'll have Aston Villa v Tottenham, with both clubs battling it out for the fourth Champions League qualification spot. At 3pm it's Wales v France in the Six Nations and Spurs take on Manchester City in the Women's FA Cup at the same time. Then all eyes will be on Anfield at 3.45pm, as Jürgen Klopp takes on Pep Guardiola for the final time in the Premier League in a potential title decider between Liverpool and Manchester City. We'll wrap the weekend up with day four of New Zealand v Australia in the second Test at 10pm.

… there is a good reason why not to support the Guardian

Not everyone can afford to pay for news right now. That is why we keep our journalism open for everyone to read. If this is you, please continue to read for free.

But if you are able to, then there are three good reasons to support us today.

1

Our quality, investigative journalism is a powerful force for scrutiny at a time when the rich and powerful are getting away with more and more

2

We are independent and have no billionaire owner telling us what to report, so your money directly powers our reporting

3

It doesn’t cost much, and takes less time than it took to read this message

Help power the Guardian’s journalism in this crucial year of news, whether with a small sum or a larger one. If you can, please support us on a monthly basis from just £2. It takes less than a minute to set up, and you can rest assured that you're making a big impact every single month in support of open, independent journalism. Thank you.
