Coming up this weekend
Our bumper weekend of live coverage begins on Friday night as the Six Nations kicks off in Paris, where France host Wales at 8.15pm (all times GMT).

Into Saturday and day three of the Women's Ashes one-off Test between Australia and England continues from 3.30am, closely followed by Sri Lanka v Australia on day four from 4.30am. Our focus flips to football at 12.30pm when Nottingham Forest entertain Brighton in the Premier League, while there's more Six Nations action at 2.15pm with Scotland v Italy. Our 3pm football clockwatch will take in the game of the day – Bournemouth v Liverpool – while the Six Nations opening round wraps with Ireland v England (4.45pm) in Dublin. We wrap things up for the day back in the Premier League with Wolves v Aston Villa at 5.30pm.

The cricket is scheduled to continue on Sunday with another early-hours double-header: Australia v England on the final day of the Women's Ashes series (3.30am) and day five of Sri Lanka v Australia in Galle (4.30am). From there it's football all the way. First up comes Manchester City v Arsenal in another big WSL showdown at 12pm, before Premier League action in the form of Brentford v Tottenham (2pm) and Arsenal v Manchester City (4.30pm). Enjoy!

… there is a very good reason why not to support the Guardian

Not everyone can afford to pay for news. That is why our website is open to everyone.

But – if you can afford to do so – here are three good reasons why you might consider becoming a Guardian supporter today:

1

Your funding means we can be completely independent

2

High-quality, trustworthy journalism is a public good

3

You can support us however you like

Help power the Guardian’s journalism at a time when misinformation is rife online and good news can be hard to find. It could be a one-off payment or a regular monthly amount of your choice. Thank you.
