Coming up this weekend
The FA Cup weekend begins at Old Trafford on Friday night, as Manchester United welcome Ruud van Nistelrooy's Leicester for their fourth-round tie (8pm, all times GMT).

Saturday starts with the second men's Test between Sri Lanka and Australia, with day three starting in Galle at 4.30am. Back to the UK and there is the prospect of an almighty Cupset as third-tier Leyton Orient host Manchester City (12.15pm) before the afternoon clockwatch covers Wigan v Fulham and plenty more (from 3pm). The Six Nations resumes with Italy v Wales at 2.15pm, before England host France at Twickenham (4.45pm). Then it's back to football, with Birmingham v Newcastle (5.45pm) and Brighton hosting Chelsea in an all-Premier League FA Cup encounter (8pm). There's still time for a trip to Spain and a huge derby between title chasers Real Madrid and Atlético (8pm).

We return to Sri Lanka for day four of Sri Lanka v Australia (4.30am), plus the second men's ODI between India and England in Cuttack from 8am. The FA Cup fourth round continues with Blackburn v Wolves (12.30pm), before Plymouth Argyle entertain quadruple-chasing Liverpool (3pm). There's a big test for the defending Six Nations champions as Ireland take on Scotland at Murrayfield (3pm). There is still time for one more blast of FA Cup action as Aston Villa host Tottenham (5.35pm) with Marcus Rashford poised for his debut. And then it's off to New Orleans for the big one: Super Bowl LIX. Our live coverage will open at 8pm, with the Chiefs v Eagles kicking off at 11.30pm. Enjoy!

… there is a very good reason why not to support the Guardian

Not everyone can afford to pay for news. That is why our website is open to everyone.

But – if you can afford to do so – here are three good reasons why you might consider becoming a Guardian supporter today:

1

Your funding means we can be completely independent

2

High-quality, trustworthy journalism is a public good

3

You can support us however you like

Help power the Guardian’s journalism at a time when misinformation is rife online and good news can be hard to find. It could be a one-off payment or a regular monthly amount of your choice. Thank you.
