Coming up this weekend
England’s Lionesses get the ball rolling for our live offering this weekend when they take on Portugal in their Women’s Nations League opener on Friday (7.45pm, all times GMT). Leicester and Brentford are also in action on Friday night when they meet in the Premier League (8pm).

The ICC Champions Trophy is Saturday morning’s main focus and we’ll have over-by-over coverage as Australia take on England (9am) in Lahore. Attention then turns to Goodison Park where David Moyes’s Everton host Manchester United (12.30pm). Arsenal v West Ham and Ipswich v Tottenham headline our clockwatch of the afternoon’s Premier League action (from 3pm). While that is going on, there is Six Nations action as Wales meet Ireland (2.15pm) and England face Scotland in the Calcutta Cup (4.45pm). The day’s Premier League fixtures finish with Aston Villa v Chelsea (5.30pm). In boxing, Artur Beterbiev and Dmitry Bivol’s highly-anticipated rematch gets underway in Riyadh (10pm).

On Sunday, one of cricket’s great rivalries is renewed as Pakistan play India in the Champions Trophy in Dubai (9am). Later, Newcastle and Nottingham Forest meet in the Premier League (2pm) and Italy take on France in the Six Nations (2.15pm). That leaves Manchester City and Liverpool to take centre stage (4.30pm) as Pep Guardiola tries to arrest his side’s slump. If that’s not enough, the weekend rounds off with a SheBelieves Cup clash between Australia and USA (10pm) from Arizona. Enjoy!

… there is a very good reason why not to support the Guardian

Not everyone can afford to pay for news. That is why our website is open to everyone.

But – if you can afford to do so – here are three good reasons why you might consider becoming a Guardian supporter today:

1

Your funding means we can be completely independent

2

High-quality, trustworthy journalism is a public good

3

You can support us however you like

Help power the Guardian’s journalism at a time when misinformation is rife online and good news can be hard to find. It could be a one-off payment or a regular monthly amount of your choice. Thank you.
