Landry veto: Gov. Jeff Landry sided with consumers and trial lawyers over business interests Tuesday as he vetoed a bill that would have reduced payouts to the injured, Tyler Bridges and James Finn report. The veto angered the business industry but heartened supporters who said it would protect consumers.
Charter schools: Landry signed the last of a package of bills favored by charter schools Tuesday, including bills that ease enrollment requirements and speed the charter application process in certain cases, Elyse Carmosino reports.
