The rise - and fall - of Garret Graves

BY JESSICA WILLIAMS | Capitol News Bureau Editor

The fall of Garret Graves: Last year, U.S. Rep. Garret Graves was riding high politically, expanding his power in Congress and flirting with a gubernatorial run back home. But last week, he announced a departure from political life. What happened? Mark Ballard has the story.

Landry veto: Gov. Jeff Landry sided with consumers and trial lawyers over business interests Tuesday as he vetoed a bill that would have reduced payouts to the injured, Tyler Bridges and James Finn report. The veto angered the business industry but heartened supporters who said it would protect consumers.

Charter schools: Landry signed the last of a package of bills favored by charter schools Tuesday, including bills that ease enrollment requirements and speed the charter application process in certain cases, Elyse Carmosino reports.
