Also, Texas and Oklahoma to the SEC?
By Bob Warren Caesars Superdome: Well, that didn’t take long. The Superdome is on its way to having a new name: The Caesars Superdome. A legislative committee OK’d a 20-year, $138 million sponsorship agreement with the gambling and entertainment company this morning. A previous naming rights agreement with Mercedes-Benz ended this month. Caesars, of course, owns Harrah’s in New Orleans, which will also take on the Caesars name at some point. Satisfaction: Huge music news this morning. The Rolling Stones, only the world’s greatest rock and roll band, will play at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival in October. Wild horses couldn’t drag us away…. Breaking through: Seems like we’re hearing more and more about people testing positive for COVID even though they’ve been vaccinated. But the experts tell our Emily Woodruff that the vaccines are very effective in what they were actually designed to do: keep you from dying if you get the virus. They're also urging people to get vaccinated. Shaking up college sports: Just how serious are the reports that Oklahoma and Texas want to join the SEC? Who knows? But it sure is fun to talk about it, eh? Columnist Scott Rabalais offers this crystal ball look at how things could shake out. All this and much more in today’s Lunch Line. Thanks for taking a break with us. BW |
