For the Saints, the answer apparently was to give Drew Brees a ring and see if he’d come out of retirement for Monday’s game against the Miami Dolphins. Brees declined – in part out of fears he wouldn’t be in shape on such short notice – and instead Blake Bortles will be backing up Ian Book. Wrangling over Ida: Residents who evacuated during Hurricane Ida and are hoping for reimbursement from State Farm could be in for a long wait. The company is fighting a directive from Commissioner of Insurance Jim Donelon telling companies to pay up even if no mandatory evacuation was ordered. And there’s no end in sight to the legal battle. The Florida model: Two brutal hurricane seasons have battered Louisiana's electrical grid and brought calls for action and investment. Might Florida, which suffered through its own nightmare in 2004 and 2005, be the model for change?
