Black and gold king cakes are just one tasty result of a winning Saints season. (Frankie Prijatel)
Black and gold king cakes. Fleur de lis desserts draped in pecan praline icing. Buckets, bags and boxes of golden New Orleans fried chicken. When the Saints are winning, chefs, bakers and fans get cooking, too. As the hometown team prepares to take on the Los Angeles Rams Sunday (Jan. 20) for the NFC Championship -- the last hurdle before the Super Bowl on Feb. 3 -- fans will feast at tailgates outside the Superdome and at parties in front of the TV. If it's a win, expect crowds of rowdy revelers to fill your favorite bars and restaurants for some extreme eating, drinking and being merry. -- Ann
Eat your brussels sprouts. They're delicious. A member mentioned that she is on the hunt for great versions of the vegetable orbs, noting that she enjoys the ones at 1000 Figs, Blue Oak, Luca Eats and Bakery Bar. Folks responded with dozens of recommendations ranging from Cowbell and MoPho to Luke and Meribo Pizza. Who says New Orleanians don't eat their veggies?
