Good morning, happy Mardi Gras, and welcome to the February 13 edition of the Saints Insider newsletter. Let's keep this quick, we've all got some parades to catch. Welcome to the party, palI knew it was coming, you knew it was coming, your uncle Ronnie knew it was coming, but Monday the Saints finally sealed the deal, signing Klint Kubiak to be their new offensive coordinator following Super Bowl LVIII. Kubiak comes from the San Francisco 49ers, and the hope is that he will come in and modernize a Saints attack that had grown stagnant the last few years. Read all about the new coach here, and check out the work he still has yet to do assembling a new staff. New Orleans does love to hostIf y'all remember, the Super Bowl was supposed to be in New Orleans this year. That idea was quickly nixed when organizers realized Super Bowl Sunday would coincide with one of the busiest days of parades in the carnival season. But, next year will be New Orleans' time to shine as a Super Bowl host, the first for the Crescent City since the 2012 season. Columnist Jeff Duncan says it's time for New Orleans to show how it's done. Watch thisSpeaking of next year's Super Bowl, the NFL actually did a good thing and commissioned a New Orleans artist to design the logo for the game. Tahj Williams is queen of her Black Masking Indian tribe, and she designed a logo for next year's Super Bowl using beads. Y'all be safe out there, enjoy your Mardi Gras and send your friendly neighborhood sports writer a slice of King Cake before it's too late. Cheers, Luke Johnson |
