Good morning. ⛅ Following revelations in Curbed this week about a toxic work environment at artist Tom Sachs's studio, Hyperallergic spoke to former workers who shared their experiences. They paint a troubling picture of rampant mistreatment, made worse by the artist's bizarre and disturbing sense of humor. Elaine Velie has all the details for you.
Another embattled art-world figure, Nancy Yao of NYC’s Museum of Chinese in America, was picked as the inaugural director of the Smithsonian's forthcoming American Women’s History Museum. Prison abolition and anti-gentrification activists in Chinatown, who have been protesting Yao's leadership for years, have some harsh words to say about the new appointment.
