Yesterday was the 12th consecutive day of fewer than 1,000 new COVID-19 cases in the state.
Prizes for people who get vaccinatedLater today Gov. Walz will announce incentives in an attempt to get more people vaccinated for COVID-19, including Minnesota State Fair tickets, state park passes and fishing licenses. The first 100,000 people to get vaccinated between Memorial Day and the end of June will be eligible to pick winnings. Vaccinations continue to climb here, but at a much slower pace than in the early months of the initial vaccine campaign. State Fair disbands its police as reopening approaches Fair officials are looking for a new police force after eliminating the department and the police chief leaving. They plan to partner with an outside agency. The Fairgrounds area previously drew protests of police violence in 2018.
