The state of seeing is more important
than what is seen

"When you are observing, seeing the dirt on the road, seeing how the politicians behave, seeing your own attitude towards your wife, your children, and so onâtransformation is there. Do you understand? To bring about some kind of order in daily life, that is transformation; not something extraordinary, out of this world. When one is not thinking clearly, objectively, and rationally, be aware of that and change it, break it. That is transformation. If you are jealousâwatch it, donât give it time to flower and change it immediately. That is transformation. When you are greedy, violent, ambitious, or trying to become some kind of holy man, see how it is creating a world of tremendous uselessness. I donât know if you are aware of this. Competition is destroying the world. The world is becoming more and more competitive, more and more aggressive, and if you change it immediately, that is transformation. And if you go very much deeper into the problem, it is clear that thought denies love. Therefore one has to find out whether there is an end to thought, an end to time, not philosophize over it and discuss it, but find out. Truly that is transformation, and if you go into it very deeply, transformation means never a thought of becoming or comparing; it is being absolutely nothing."

Dear Friends,
In the excerpt above, Krishnamurti shines a light on transformation. He suggests that it occurs when you observe; it is not anything exceptional or otherworldly, but rather it is a quality of mind that brings order about. His statements on transformation are unique in that he says it is not a gradual process; transformation acts immediately, it doesnât allow something like envy to flower because the seeing of it leads to action. However, Krishnamurti leaves it to the individual reader to find out for themselves; built into his teachings is a call to action: do not believe him and find out for yourself.
We recently released Bulletin #96, which includes previously unpublished Krishnamurti material on the topic of choiceless awareness. As usual, a copy of this bulletin has been mailed to donors. Choiceless awareness is the theme for this year and the focus of our activities across the KFA. It is also the title of one of Krishnamurtiâs study books, which facilitates a deeper understanding of what he calls awareness. Click here to read the digital version of the bulletin.
Next month our first in-person program of the year, Can I Live Without Influence?, takes place January 20-23. In this weekend intensive, participants will look into the whole nature of influence: its effect on us and our awareness of it. Program attendees will explore questions such as: When we explore together are we free of psychological direction or goals? Do we want to have sway over each other or rather, do we wish to think together? Are we seeking to be positively influenced this weekend or can we think for ourselves and learn in a completely new way? This program is for anyone who is interested in exploring this topic in-depth and those who are willing to think for themselves, observing relationship as it reveals itself.
As this year and the second season of The Immeasurable Podcast come to an end, we will break for a short hiatus before returning for season three. The podcast attempts to offer an in-depth look at dialogue and investigation centered around Krishnamurtiâs insights. Episodes include original Krishnamurti material, conversations with individuals who knew him or have studied his teachings, and explorations on various relevant topics such as love, fear, dialogue, and insight.

Krishnamurti says that these come from the self, or the center, and the limitations of the thinker ultimately hinder one from freedom. Can one discover what love is by using thought?
