Ditch big box Black Friday? Maybe embrace the local charm of local makers?
Innovation Works is inviting folks to break away from the Black Friday chaos and dive into the unique charm of the Green Spring Station Makers Market on Dec. 9.
Makers like HGE Designs, Keppel & Kismet, and Stem & Vine — all IW alum — will be featuring their handmade creations. Great alternatives to mainstream shopping, if you ask me. Made In Baltimore's 2023 Holiday Store at Harbor Place is also open and offers a plethora of locally crafted treasures.
Maybe you don't need more stuff but are looking to make a difference. You could sponsor a shingle on Open Works' storage shed adorned with surplus road signs, supporting their 2024 plans, including a second location and a statewide maker space network.
This holiday season, make your shopping experience unforgettable while championing local makers and community initiatives.
Oh — and you could also give the gift of recognition by voting for your faves in Baltimore's tech ecosystem to help them win Technical.ly Awards for 2023. Voting is open through Nov. 30!
Dell Technologies biggest sale of the year. The Technical.ly community can start shopping this once-a-year event with limited-time deals on Dell’s top performing products. Click here to start shopping Black Friday deals.
