The three LSU will (likely) see every year

Greetings from Greenville, South Carolina.

The clock is ticking on the time when Texas and Oklahoma join the SEC. The conference has to have a schedule format in place later this year with the Longhorns and Sooners set show up for the 2024 football season.

Nothing is set in stone, but we've got news for you on who LSU's three permanent opponents will be if the SEC goes to a nine-game format as planned. Read about who sources say they will be right here.

Back in the current version of the SEC, Angel Reese didn't have a double-double in LSU's SEC Tournament debut Friday against Georgia. That's news.

The Tigers won anyway, going away. That is news.

LSU got big contributions from Alexis Morris and Flau'Jae Johnson instead, and the Tigers marched out of the quarterfinals with an 83-66 victory over Georgia that wasn't really that close.

LSU (28-1) meets Tennessee, an 80-71 winner over Kentucky, in Saturday's second semifinal, about 6 p.m. CST on ESPNU. South Carolina faces Ole Miss in the first game at 3:30 p.m. CST.

The game was a chippy, emotional and yes, soggy affair. A storm front blew through Greenville during the game, blew up part of the roof, causing a leak right over the court that resulted in a 44-minute weather delay of all things. But the Tigers pushed through all that, reaching the SEC semifinals for the first time since 2015. Check out my three takeaways from the victory.

Now to get to the final, LSU has to beat the Lady Volunteers twice in the same season for the first time ever. LSU beat Tennessee 76-68 in Baton Rouge in January.

Baseball was back home at Alex Box Stadium, with pitcher Paul Skenes dealing strike outs as usual in a win over Butler. We also have a photo gallery from the game. And here's a look ahead to Saturday's game with Central Connecticut State.

There's always a little more football news, isn't there? Well, the Tigers picked up a big in-state commitment Friday. Click here to find out who it is. And check out the news from the NFL combine in Indianapolis as Kayshon Boutte took his turn on the big stage.

Men's basketball is still playing. No, really, it is. The Tigers wrap up the regular season Saturday at Florida.

Speaking of basketball, Detroit Mercy's Antoine Davis came up short of Pete Maravich's all-time scoring record of 3,667 career points Thursday night. Or did he? We give you the details on whether Davis' Pistol Pete pursuit still has life.

And, finally, LSU gymnastics overcame yet more adversity Friday night to win the four-team Podium Challenge at the Raising Cane's River Center by a fraction of a point over California, 197.700-197.675.

If that's not enough for you to read about LSU-sports wise, well, maybe we can find a chess tournament for you somewhere.

No, you're good? We're glad. Because we've got to do it all over again Saturday, bringing you more sports coverage of the Tigers from all over.

Thanks for reading, thanks for subscribing, thanks for low-interest personal loan.

We'll talk about that later.
