Hi John, It's only Thursday, and it's been a big week! My friend Marisa invited me to speak at this week's The Shiny Squirrel Summit, and I led a fun session yesterday called "5-minute Art Prompts to Help You Crush Your Creative Blocks." You can still sign up for the Summit and hear today's and tomorrow's speakers - it's all free. Then yesterday, Ryan Jenkins, a tinkerer extraordinaire of The Wonderful Idea Co, was in town for his book launch tour! We got to meet! Ryan is awesome! This is his book... If you have kids who like to tinker, this book is one you don't want to miss. Ryan was an educator at San Francisco's iconic Exploratorium, and all the projects remind me of this magical space. No need to get on a plane and fly to ✈️SFO - just pick up a copy of the book, and you'll find yourself making a Glow City with LEDs, creating simple mechanical structures with gears and pulleys, and turning household furniture into fantastical marble runs. Free Educator's Guide Ryan's publisher, Storey Publishing, created an Educator's Guide to accompany the book, which you can download here. Forever tinkering, Rachelle P.S. Here are three ways I can help you bring more art to your child or for yourself: Make a Marble Run with cardboard tubes, tape, and marbles Fill your days with easy and inspiring creativity-boosting art activities for kids with TinkerLab Schoolhouse (doors open next week!). Plan a full year of art lessons for your classroom with our K-5 art plan. Get it here.
