Introducing...The Travel Club Talks

Decolonising Travel Writing is the first in a series of exciting online events with some of Bradt's bestselling authors!

On Thursday 29 September at 7pm, join Tharik Hussain who'll be discussing his new book Minarets in the Mountains: A Journey Into Muslim Europe and why it’s more important than ever now to hear from new voices in travel writing.

The first English travel narrative by a Muslim writer about the indigenous Muslim cultures of Europe, Minarets in the Mountains is a vivid reimagining of a region’s cultural heritage, unveiling forgotten Muslim communities, empires and their rulers.

It has had a fantastic response since publication, with Levison Wood calling it “a fascinating insight into the living legacy of Islam in Europe”, while Tim Mackintosh-Smith hailed the book “a richly detailed travelogue by a humane and compassionate pilgrim.”

FREE to attend for our Travel Club members, the Travel Club Talks will offer an opportunity to hear from our writers first-hand and put all your questions directly to them.

If you’re not already a Travel Club member, you can sign up here, or for everyone else, tickets cost £5 which can be redeemed against a copy of the book.
