The troubles at Campion apartments

BY ADAM DAIGLE | Acadiana Business Editor

The large Campion at Lafayette apartment got a lot of attention when construction began years ago. It was billed as mostly student housing with unmatched amenities and nearly 200 units that would rent by the room instead of the unit.

But the owner quietly offered it to a lender in lieu of its $36.5 million debt in 2023. But it wasn't until a few weeks ago that the property sold and the owners' issues with the property came to light. It includes over a dozen liens and multiple lawsuits over unpaid bills.

The new owners have rebranded it Pointe at Pinhook.
