Dear John,

Two years ago I had breakfast with Dr. Ken Blanchard. He asked me what I thought were the two most important leadership qualities. I quickly asked him what he thought - I was hoping to learn! Here is what he said:

“Humility and Confidence. The Humility to know there is nothing you can do without Christ, and the Confidence to know there is nothing you can’t do with Christ.”

As a Christ follower that is powerful! Even if you are not a believer, don’t you agree the world would be in a much better place if our leaders had both humility and confidence in EQUAL abundance?

Here is another thought for you.

As leaders we must stand on and start with Integrity. The byproduct of Integrity is Trust. The best way to build trust with those you lead is through your vulnerability - a lesson I learned from Patrick Lencioni.
