ICE raids Ohio meat-packing plants, arrests more than 100: Dozens of undocumented immigrants are in federal custody after U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Homeland Security agents conducted raids at four meat processing plants in Ohio. More than 100 were arrested at Fresh Mark in Salem, Ohio. Search warrants also were executed at two Fresh Mark locations in Massillon and another in Canton. Investigators say Fresh Mark hired undocumented immigrants at its processing and packaging plants, and many of them were using fake identities belonging to U.S. citizens. Read more. Cleveland man tricked into nude video chat blackmailed for $10,000: Police say a Cleveland man was duped into taking part in a sexually explicit video chat, then was threatened with the release of video on social media unless he donated $10,000 to a charity. The incident occurred after the man accepted a friend request from an unknown woman on Facebook. The man reported the incident to Cleveland police but no arrests have been made. Read more. Ohio House appears ready to loosen, not tighten, gun regulations: The Republican-dominated Ohio House is defying Gov. John Kasich's call for stricter gun monitoring and instead appears ready to loosen state gun-control laws. House Speaker Ryan Smith says lawmakers are likely to vote next week on a “stand your ground” bill, which would eliminate the duty to retreat before using force in self-defense. Smith says he believes the House has the 60 votes required to override an expected Kasich veto. Read more. American Greetings lays off staff at Westlake location: American Greetings laid off an undetermined amount of workers at its Creative Studios at Crocker Park in Westlake. The layoffs come as part of a restructuring plan after the company sold a 60 percent stake to a private equity firm in April. The card company has nearly 25,000 employees, 1,700 of them at the company's Westlake corporate headquarters. Read more.
