Integrity Pacts: the European Commission perspective

By 2030, close to US$6 trillion could be lost annually in the construction industry to corruption. With so much public money spent on roads, bridges and schools it is vital that public procurement for these contracts is clean. The European Commission teamed up with Transparency International to pilot the use of Integrity Pacts in 17 projects in 11 EU countries worth a total investment of EUR 900 million.

European Union: First tax havens blacklist published by EU

The European Union has published its first blacklist of tax havens, naming 17 territories including Saint Lucia, Barbados and South Korea. A "watchlist" of 47 countries promising to change their tax rules to meet EU standards has also been issued.
