How Shopping Online Can Make Summer Safer
 

Planning a beach trip this summer? A trip to the park? A ride down the waterslide? Perhaps quality time in your backyard? Think again. Many experts say that any one of those activities could be terribly dangerous for kids and therefore should be avoided. Sand is hot and can burn feet. Playing in playgrounds can cause head injuries and water slides — don’t even start. Maybe then, the only truly safe thing to do is to stay still in a cool dark room ... and shop online?

Confused EU Regulators Slam Google
 

Does anyone else find it even mildly ironic that Google was just fined $2.7 billion in the EU for dominating an area that it doesn’t dominate? Karen Webster does, and she says the European Commission was so focused on the online search for products over the last seven years they failed to see consumers increasingly don’t start their product searches there anymore. Missing that forest for the trees, she says, has some sobering lessons for all innovators — and should for regulators.
