Why FedNow Will Slow Real-Time Payments

The Fed has made official its plans to build and operate a real-time payments network in the U.S. With a rollout planned for 2024, Karen Webster said it’s not exactly fast-tracking the payments ecosystem toward a brand-new set of ubiquitous, real-time payments rails.
