Olympians React to Klete Keller’s Involvement at Capitol: ‘Terrible Reflection on the Sport’

As Klete Keller’s role in the U.S. Capitol insurrection became more clear, the reaction among the swimming community was shock. As more details came out, and Keller surrendered to authorities, facing federal charges, the reaction grew.

For many among the swimming community the reaction was sadness, for others it was anger, and for many it was simply disbelief. USA Swimming released a damning statement in response to Keller’s actions.

Arno Kamminga Urges FINA To Use Technology And ‘Expose The Cheats’ Doing Illegal Fly Kicks

Three-time European short-course champion Arno Kamminga has called on FINA to use the technology they have at their disposal and “expose the cheats” who use illegal dolphin kicks during breaststroke.

The Netherlands athlete was on the sort of form that indicated an exciting 2020 ahead when he went third all-time over 100 breaststroke in 58.43 in March before the Tokyo Olympics were postponed.

Among the events receiving significant attention ahead of the United States Olympic Trials is the women’s 100 backstroke. Why? Well, the event will feature a pair of world-record holders, a medalist from the World Championships and several upstarts who hope to make an impact on the international stage for Team USA.

In what was a precursor to what will unfold in Omaha, several of the top contenders battled on Saturday night during the TYR Pro Swim Series, with Regan Smith emerging victorious.
