Adam Peaty On World Records, Illegal Dolphin Kicks, Lessons In Defeat and The Warrior Spirit

Adam Peaty stood behind the blocks and stared down his lane at the Duna Arena ahead of the final race of the ISL in Budapest.

Alongside him was Mel Marshall, his coach since he was 14 when he walked through the doors at the City of Derby club and with whom he has reached the Olympic pinnacle.

At 6ft 3ins, Peaty towers over Marshall but he leaned in towards her as she spoke, eyes still on his lane.

Siphiwe Baleka Looking to Qualify For Olympic Games as 50-Year-Old

At 50 years old, Guinea Bissau’s Siphiwe Baleka is hoping to swim in his first Olympic Games in Tokyo next summer

The year 1992 was supposed to be when Tony Blake would swim in the Olympic Games for the United States. He had dreamed of getting on the plane to Barcelona at the peak age of 21, and was hoping the 1991 US Open in Minneapolis was his opportunity to showcase himself as one of the best in the world in the 100 freestyle.

Six Athletes File Suit Against University of Iowa for Cutting Women’s Swim Team

Six female athletes have filed suit against the University of Iowa, citing gender discrimination in the school’s decision to cut women’s sports teams.

The lawsuit, a copy of which was obtained by Swimming World, was filed in the Southern District of Iowa. It seeks a temporary restraining order and preliminary injunction against the cuts.

Proceeds support the Hall of Fame.
