Sun Yang Vs WADA Verdict: Damning Eight-Year Ban Ends Career Of Chinese Controversy

Sun Yang ‘s swimming career is over. In a damning judgment, a panel of three senior judges at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) handed the Chinese Olympic champion an eight-year ban. The penalty is not backdated and starts this day, ruling Sun out of the defence of the 200m freestyle title at Tokyo 2020.

TYR Pro Series: Katie Ledecky Pops Fifth-Fastest 1500 Free in History

A month ahead of the start of Olympic Trials season around the world, American distance ace Katie Ledecky put down an impressive marker in the 1500-meter freestyle to open action at the TYR Pro Series stop in Des Moines, Iowa on Wednesday night. Unchallenged and racing only the clock, Ledecky produced a time of 15:29.51, the fifth-fastest performance in history.

Tokyo 2020 Olympics Can Be Postponed To End Of Year Under IOC Contract: Japan’s Games Minister

Japan’s Government has been told that the contract for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games specifies that the event must be held within 2020, allowing for a postponement from July until further towards the end of the year between October and December should the coronavirus emergency make that a safer option.
