ANU, ACT agreements at risk under Commonwealth's new plan on foreign deals

On this day in 1971, The Canberra Times reported on an ACT branch of the Family Planning Association of Australia holding its first contraceptive clinic session. Dr Helen Ware, a research fellow at Australian National University, was amazed at the misconceptions many had about the pill and how to take it. After a push from the Canberra Women's Liberation Movement, the ACT clinic decided to offer contraceptive advice to males and females over the age of consent.
