The Yard Goat is now open. Its menu is 'not the average bar food.'

The Yard Goat picked a good week to open. In its first eight days of business, Lafayette’s new German-style beer garden on Bertrand Drive has welcomed a crowd of people eager to enjoy outdoor brews and spring temperatures. And their partnership with a local restaurant makes the experience even better. Who doesn’t want meat pies, Cajun tacos, or a steak board with their beer flight?

Rusty White, co-owner of The Yard Goat, says that he was warned that Lafayette people take their food extremely seriously.

“I’m from New Orleans, but I didn’t want to make this a New Orleans bar, whatever that means,” he says.
