Happy Holidays!
ZEISS
The winter birding guide.
ZEISS Nature wishes you happy holidays.
Dear Reader,
During winter months many mammals slow down for their winter hibernation. Many of us probably wish to do the same at this time of the year. As bird watchers, however, it is worth staying active with the birds all year round. Even if many birds are in the warm south, now is the time for species we do not see during summer to become more common. Depending where your home is in the world you now might see Bohemian Waxwings, Merlins, Hen Harrier, Bramblings or a Common Scoter or Snowy Owls. So, let’s put warm clothes on, hang our optics around our neck and go birding! That is the best remedy for the blues in autumn.
Questions on optics and its special winter challenges in snow, coldness and ice will be answered in our ZEISS area on BirdForum.

Winter Birding

Which rare guests visit us now in winter in the northern hemisphere? Watching birds in winter has its own charm. Perhaps it is not that relaxing like in the summer, but it is a unique experience. Who endures the cold outside gets rewarded with rare sightings, which usually do not catch in front of the lens. With phonescoping you take the chance to capture the moment for long summers until you will get the next chance for winter birding.
