BEING THERE

"Are we there yet?!"

We have left the life we knew, heading out on a long journey and wishing we had the promise of a defined destination. Instead we must reconcile our angst about being in limbo, living in the unknown day after day.

I'd be lying if I said I am without fear. Yet my excitement about the possibilities that could seed new realities now is palpable. It's scary to let go of our life's routines but within that release is an invitation to experience indescribable joy in this kind of freedom.

I call it Reckless Abandon, and this is the foundation of abstract expression. Creating abstract art has shown me that when I let go of trying to make a painting work - knowing what I want to do without knowing how it's going to happen -  the painting rises to a level of "being there" that is more authentically heartfelt.

Employing creative genius is key to solving the almost insurmountable problems that are obstructing our global well-being. Our intuition is the foundation of creativity.

Therefore . . .
  • Making abstract art taps our intuitive well.
  • The direct line to this well begins with reckless abandon.
  • It's a valuable practice for getting comfortable with the unknown.

I am a planner and since I cannot plan it feels good to be productive through reckless abandon. It's the only expression that feels right now.
