Known for the nightlife, shopping and entertainment venues and expansive cultural history, Soho and Carnaby should be a priority for you to hit up this summer. Right now, you can immerse yourself in all things music with Soho Music Month, a free music cultural festival taking place across July.

Celebrating the vibrant music history in this part of the West End, the month-long celebration kicks off on July 1 with a little something for everyone. Lose yourself in exclusive pop-ups from Museum of Youth Culture and Creative Media Network. You'll also find a personally curated exhibition by Ronnie Wood at 57 Carnaby Street with signed limited edition prints available for purchase. Looking to expand your record collection? Make sure to swing by on July 18 for a one-day record market hosted on Carnaby Street with Independent Label Market who will be curating a line-up with a special selection of vinyl stalls from independent and emerging record labels.

If you’re hankering for a bit more musical knowledge – always comes in handy at your local pub quiz – you’ll find a free music history tour running every Wednesday in July where you can trace the footsteps of some of music’s greatest gifts. After all that walking, you can whet your appetite with new dishes and cocktails from nearby bars and restaurants like Cahoots, Bread Ahead and Polpo, as well as exclusive collections and promotions at the likes of RS No.9 Carnaby, Oliver Spencer, adidas, MOSCOT and many more.

Calling all composers, musicians and artists! Carnaby has launched a competition to find an anthem. Lyrics have been written as a homage to Carnaby and members of the public, amateur or professional, are invited to create a song with these lyrics. The winning prize includes a day in the studio to record and mix this song and a track of their own choice, with the winning song being released this winter. Wrapping up on 31 July, there’s plenty of time to head over to Soho and Carnaby for a unique celebration of the music and legends who have changed the face of music as we know it.
