Latest coronavirus figures

The First Minister confirmed in her briefing today that 28 new deaths have been recorded and 999 new cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in the last 24 hours in Scotland.

Of the new cases 378 were in the Greater Glasgow and Clyde health board area, with 207 in NHS Lanarkshire, 107 were in Ayrshire and Arran and 128 new cases recorded in NHS Lothian.

New data from the Scottish Government reveals the breakdown of coronavirus rates according to area between October 23 and 29.

The results may not come as a huge surprise to many, given low population areas feature heavily. However, there are some surprises to be found in the figures.
