SCIENCE SATURDAY
How rattlesnakes use this auditory illusion to trick our brains Image Source: Tobias Kohl You’d think that a rattlesnake’s rattle would be a pretty simple mechanism: shake tail, make menacing noise, end interaction.
But it turns out that’s not all this snake can do with its strange tail.
Before, scientists were fairly certain that the limits of the rattle extend only to warning off predators, increasing in frequency with proximity. Now they think there’s one more trick in this snaky playbook — a frequency jump.
You can use this mechanism in your own favor, because it helps everyone avoid an unpleasant encounter. Here’s how it works.

ABOUT THAT HONEY-DO LIST...

Yes, it's possible to clean your house in 15 minutes. Here's how
I am sure you would rather fill large blocks of your calendar with something much more enjoyable than the tedious task of cleaning your house. The best part about such a task is when it's done. However, it's getting to that point that is the hard part.
The answer to this universal dilemma is to take a big, problematic project and break it down into smaller, more manageable tasks. The simple act of making the time frame manageable, and the goal attainable, is all it will take to move you from overwhelm (the whole house is a wreck) into action (I tackled the dishes!).
Once you get going, not only will you find out you can accomplish much more in 15 minutes than you thought possible, but the repeated experience of successfully setting a goal and accomplishing it will create momentum until the big project.
The best part of using this productivity hack is you can apply it to just about any task!

The FBI just unsealed documents regarding a bodybuilder’s bizarre murder-for-hire scheme in 2003. Apparently a man named Patrick Graber approached Kobe Bryant, offering to kill the woman who claimed that Bryant raped her for $3 million.
He apparently wrote to Bryant, offering to squash the “problem with respect to the sexual case,” should the NBA legend be willing to pay Graber’s fee.
Apparently, Graber was a Swiss national who had been working in a Gold’s Gym at the time of the incident.
