Last week was a chaotic one for vaccine news. The FDA and CDC paused the distribution of the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine after reports that six people experienced blood clots in the United States. Senior reporter Catherine Pearson broke down why officials made the call to pause (it isn’t exactly what you’d think) and what you should know if you’ve already received that shot.
Here’s my take: Remember that these vaccines are life-saving tools for the vast majority of people. Tweets and headlines don’t always tell the full story. Get a COVID-19 shot when you can! It’s the sure path out of this mess.
