4 Tips from Pete on How to Sell Your Equipment

Our friends Larry & Angie from Chillicothe, OH had been trying to sell their 2003 Case IH 2366 for over 2 months on FB Marketplace and Craigslist and had no serious inquiries. Then they tried MachineryPete.com's Sell It Yourself option and it sold within 48 hours!

Pete shares a few tips on how to personalize equipment to sell:

Strong Visuals:
  • Take video (if possible, drone video) of your equipment in action on your farm – this can make your piece of equipment stand out from the crowd!
  • Add at least 8 photos

Concise, Yet Detailed Descriptions:
  • List all key specs
  • Share a story! In Larry & Angie’s combine listing they shared that they had driven their combine to church (pic of combine parked at church below)!
  • Also, share why you’re selling – in this case, they had upgraded to a 4 WD & didn’t need this machine anymore

Fair Pricing:
  • Most shoppers have a specific price range in mind - price in line with your local market to maximize listing views and leads
  • You don’t have to have the lowest price, but you shouldn’t be overpriced
