LONDON REMIXED: It may not be full-on festival weather yet, but that's not stopping London Remixed Festival. It takes over Rich Mix for two days celebrating emerging musical talent and genres, with 25 DJs and bands across four stages. Rich Mix (Shoreditch), book ahead, 31 January-1 February
BRITISH ARMY PORTRAITS: Professional portraitist Rory Lewis discusses his project Soldiery, in which he worked with the British Army to capture leaders and soldiers from a range of regiments, and depict 21st century Army life. ST JAMES'S PARK: Learn something new about St James's Park and the surrounding area on this walking tour led by a Royal Parks expert guide. Find out how St James's Park helped court a King's mistress, and watch the daily pelican feed. St James's Park, £10, book ahead, 1.15pm-2.45pm
PRISONERS OF WAR: The National Archives is running a volunteer project to catalogue its surviving collection of second world war German record cards of British and Commonwealth prisoners of war and some civilian internees. BUNNY HOOVA: Singer and backing band Bunny Hoova perform a free gig at Southbank Centre. Kickstart your weekend with quirky lo-fi sounds, infectious guitar riffs and honest songwriting, all with an ethereal twist. Southbank Centre, free, just turn up, 6pm
NATURAL HISTORY LATE: Dinosaurs are the focus of this month's Friday late at Natural History Museum — and it's a theme we heartily approve of. Scientists are on hand to talk about how dinosaurs lived, and share an insight into dino research going on at the museum. Plus there's a bar, science demos and other activities. COMEDY: Lord of the Game of the Ring of Thrones is the mouthful of a name of tonight's comedy show. It involves a group of improv comedians on stage, with no script, and nothing to guide them except suggestions from the audience, improvising an epic adventure tale. NEW MEDICINES: Hear from an actual Nobel Prize winner about their work. Sir Gregory Winter — who was awarded the Nobel Prize for Chemistry in 2018 — discusses his research, which led to the development of new drugs to treat breast cancer and arthritis, as well as what it could mean for new medicines in the future. MARCEL LUCONT: Enjoy an evening of entertainment by Marcel Lucont, the French alter-ego of English comedian Alexis Dubus. Expect bawdy stand-up comedy, and cheeky songs accompanied by a live band. Watermans (Hounslow), £15, book ahead, 8.30pm
WOMEN OF SOUL: Celebrate the talent of Aretha Franklin, Tina Turner, Etta James and others, at an evening dedicated to women of soul. A female-fronted house band performs live, interspersed with soul, funk and rock 'n' roll sets from DJs. Blues Kitchen (Camden), £4.52, book ahead, 9pm-2am
BREXIT PARTY: Finally, it is Brexit Day. Anyone excited by the severance should head on down to Parliament Square for a big knees-up (possibly... the website has few details). If you are attending, be there at 9pm sharp, as the Leave Means Leave website says. Or 9.30pm as the Leave Means Leave Twitter post says. Whatever.

Well folks, it's our last day in the European Union. And I'd just like to point out that only two of the 270 tube stations contain the letters 'EU' (adjacent and in that order). It's a fairly easy pair to guess, but still a surprising fact, n'est-ce pas?

Good cause of the day
