DID YOU KNOW?
Rushton Hall was the setting for the last performance of Glenn Miller on 13th December 1944. He played at a dinner dance and following his performance he went back to his barracks in Bedford. He spent the following evening drinking with friends at Milton Ernest Hall near Bedford. On Friday 15th December he flew from RAF Twinwood to play for the troops in Paris. He never made it to France as his plane was lost over the English Channel.

Major Clarke Gable and James Stuart were also at the dinner dance. Ironically 10 years later James Stuart was to play Glenn Miller in the film The Glenn Miller Story.
