Autism at work
Happy almost Friday, folks. Earlier this week, I dropped a story looking at how neurodivergent people — a term that represents those with neurological types such as autism, ADHD and dyslexia — are often excluded from, discriminated against or are forced to operate in workplaces that don’t cater to or support their needs.
Making changes to your hiring practices, like providing interview questions ahead of time, highlighting the accommodations process, or accepting different work styles are some of the easy things company leaders and people operations teams can do. The experiences and talents of different neurotypes are valuable, and DEI practices should make space for their inclusion.
Read more from my story here, and let me know what you think — or if you have more tips to share.
