2017 - 2018 Preschool Enrollment

Deerfield Park District Preschool is now enrolling for 2017-2018 school year. Our well-rounded curriculum includes opportunities in math, science and nature, literacy, language and listening, dramatic play and outdoor play. Register before the January 6th, 2017, 5:00 PM lottery deadline. After the lottery you may register your child at any time if there are openings. Registration is not available online.

Spend Winter Break with Deerfield Park District!

Deerfield Park District Holiday Happenings offers fun trips, programs and workshops for students in Kindergarten through 5th grade throughout winter break. Come for one day, or choose to spend the whole break with us. This Winter's trips include indoor waterparks, museums, Lazer Tag and so much more. Students can also spend their break at our Holiday Sports Camp or Ceramic Winter Break Workshops. Registration for Winter trips and Holiday Happenings, Workshops and Camps is now open.

New After School Enrichment Programs at Jewett Park Community Center

You asked, we answered! Due to popular request, Deerfield Park District will now offer NEW After School Enrichment Programs at Jewett Park Community Center with busing from District 109 Schools! Classes and programs include: Deerfield Performers Troupe, Broadway Bound, Little Footlighters, Mini Footlighters, Toys and Trucks for Boys and Girls, Superheroes & Superstars, Voice Lessons, Piano Lessons, Art Lessons, Art Reunion, Ceramics and Pottery Wheel, Deerfield Dance Studio Ballet and Jazz, Chess Club, and Sticky Fingers Cooking. Ice Skating at Deerfield Park District Parks

Deerfield Park District makes ice for outdoor skating as soon weather conditions permit. We maintain neighborhood rinks with timed lighting for your skating enjoyment. Neighborhood rinks are located at Briarwood, Jaycee, Jewett and Patti Stryker (Pine St.) parks, as well as a hockey rink at Jewett Park. Men's Winter Baskeball Leagues Don't be cooped up inside this winter when you can hit the court at Sachs Recreation Center! Adult Basketball Leagues are now forming at the Sachs Recreation Center. We offer two levels of play. There is a Men’s A league on Monday nights beginning January 9 and a Men’s B league on Wednesday nights beginning January 11. Broadway Bound Young actors (Grades 3-6) will get the opportunity to audition, rehearse, and perform the musical "Annie Jr.". With professional costumes, sets and sound, performers will feel like stars on Broadway! Performances will be held at Caruso Middle School. All students are guaranteed a role in the production, but no particular role. Join us for a fabulous experience that celebrates both the theatre process and product! This is part of the JPCC After School Enrichment, and busing is available!

Winter Break Sports Camp Looking for something fun to do during winter break? Then sign-up for the Holiday Sports Camp. We will play fun and exciting sports such as kickball, dodgeball, basketball, football, soccer, swimming and more! For more information contact Jim at 847-572-2627.

Parent and Tot Drop In Interact with other parents and childcare providers, while your child plays with other children. A great way to form lasting friendships. Our awesome classroom has a play kitchen, climbing toys, puzzles and games. Simple craft items will be available for you to enjoy with your child. Participants may come and go. Activities are suited for children 1-3.5 years of age, however, other age children may come along. Parents/ childcare provider must be present with child(ren).

Footlighters Allow your aspiring thespian discover the wonders of performance and play using their body, mind and imagination! Mini Footlighters (Pre-K - K) and Little Footlighters (K - 2) classes will bring out your child's dramatic spirit through games and story theatre. These classes help develop creativity and confidence both onstage and off!

Deerfield Performers Troupe Dedicated musical theater students (Grades 4-8) will explore the wonderful world of theatre as they navigate their way through a full scale musical production of "Signin' in the Rain". This advanced class focuses on performance, teamwork, dramaturgy, and the purpose of performing. All accepted troupe members are guaranteed a role in the production, but no particular role. This is part of the JPCC After School Enrichment, and busing is available!

Drury Lane Theater's "Crazy for You"

This romantic Gershwin musical comedy follows Bobby Child, a New York banker with a craving for show business, who is sent to foreclose on a theatre in a small mining town. After falling in love with a local girl, he vows to put on a show to save the failing theatre. "Crazy for You" takes memorable Gershwin tunes and brings new life into them. Register by December 28th, 2016.

Elgin Symphony Orchestra Presents
“Gershwin Rhapsodies”

The ESO was named “Orchestra of the Year” an unprecedented four times by the Illinois Council of Orchestras. The ESO brings in guest pianist Yana Reznik, and conductor Andrew Grams. The program will feature a Cuban Overture, written after Gershwin’s visit to Havana in 1932; Lullaby for Strings, highlighting the spectacular strings of the ESO; and 2nd Rhapsody, which may be the most experimental of his works. The concert will also hold Rhapsody in Blue, described by Gershwin as a “musical kaleidoscope of America, of our vast melting pot.” The program concludes with his iconic tone poem American in Paris, which depicts busy Parisian streets traversed by an American tourist in the 1920's.

"Polynesian Nights" Island Luau

Forget about winter and snow for a few hours by joining us at the PTC as we welcome the return of our “Polynesian Nights” Tropical Island Luau. The night will feature an island buffet of tropical fare and the entertainment of the Royal Polynesian Dance Review.

Be an SRC Warrior!

Participants of all fitness levels are welcome to try out Warrior 450. This new high energy class has participants working “Circuit Style” in groups of 4, with TRX and Water Rowers and other fitness “toys” including battle ropes, heavy bags, sandbells and more. Bring your "A Game" every time!

SRC FitRewards

SRC FitRewards is a complimentary loyalty program that rewards member participation at the Sachs Recreation Center. Members can earn points a variety of ways, such as: visit SRC to workout, attending classes, working with a personal trainer or nutritional counselor, referring a friend to join, renewing an annual membership, etc. As these points accumulate, members can redeem them online for great prizes like fitness and adventure gear, apparel and more - all shipped free to your door! Plus, members can earn Sachs Recreation Center services such as personal training sessions and guest passes as well as SRC logo wear. All members of Sachs Recreation Center are automatically enrolled into SRC FitRewards. Have you been wanting to try SRC? You can purchase 10 punch visit pass for Day Passes and Open Gym/Swim/Track Passes at a discounted rate. A 10 punch visit pass for Day Passes is $90, a $10 savings and a 10 punch visit card for Open Gym/Swim/Track is $45, a $5 savings.

Indoor Golf Lessons

Golf season has ended, but you can still improve your skills this winter! Deerfield Golf Club & Learning Center staff offers youth and adult lessons indoors at Sachs Recreation Center. Introduce your child to the basic fundamentals of golf in a game oriented atmosphere in our Tiny Tykes and Start Smart Golf classes. Adults just starting to play can take our Beginners Class.
