This “Go-to” Pain Reliever May Be a Heart Hazard

Researchers followed more than 18,000 adults with gout who were prescribed either NSAIDs or colchicine when starting long-term treatment for their condition. Compared to those using colchicine, NSAID users had:
  • 56% higher risk of major cardiovascular events
  • 2.5x greater risk of cardiovascular death
  • 2x higher risk of all-cause mortality
Even more alarming? Compared to doing nothing, NSAIDs were still linked to a 50% higher heart risk and nearly double the rate of heart attacks.

And this isn’t about years of use. These were short-term prescriptions. Just a few weeks of use was enough to raise red flags.

Yet NSAIDs are still handed out like aspirin—no questions asked.

Look, gout is painful. It’s no joke. But mainstream medicine’s knee-jerk answer—“Here, take this pill”—often ignores the bigger picture.

NSAIDs, like many pharmaceuticals, don’t solve the root problem. They mask symptoms. And in doing so, they open the door to silent dangers… especially for your heart.

That’s why I always urge you to look at natural options first:
