Here's how we'll get there.

Dear readers, this week we imagined what it would look like to live in a futureproof world...
The systems we rely on are fragile — and they're failing. The way we produce food doesn't do an especially good job of feeding people. Our electricity grids give out when we need them most. People struggle to afford their most basic needs, and suffer the dangerous consequences of extreme heat even in some of the world's richest cities. All the while, governments value economic growth over the health of the planet and the well-being of their citizens.
The convergence of COVID-19 and the climate crisis has thrown a spotlight on a fraying social fabric. But at the weakest spots, you find people showing their strength. Around the globe, they are rising to meet the challenges of a disaster-prone world — feeding their communities with regenerative farms, using renewable energy to light the darkest of times, caring for their most vulnerable neighbors, and proving that we can survive today while creating a better tomorrow.
We teamed up with Unearthed, Greenpeace UK’s journalism unit, to bring you these stories of hope and resilience in a five-part series called FutureProof.
It will take all of us to get the world ready for what's next. Here's how we can do it.
What do you think? We'd love to hear from you. Cheers, Laura and Amanda |
