Winter Registration will open November 14th for Residents, and November 28th for Non-Residents.

Moonlight Golf Outing 
Deerfield Family Theater's "Big: the musical" opens this weekend and runs November 11th - 20th at Caruso Auditorium! Purchase your tickets online at deerfieldfamilytheater.com or in person at Jewett Park Community Center. This hilarious musical adapted the 80's classic film featuring Tom Hanks. When a frustrated adolescent wishes he were “big” and wakes up the next morning as a 30 year old, he discovers there’s more to being an adult than he bargained for. 

New Garden Adventures Camp!
Holiday HappeningsDeerfield Park District offers School Days Out trips for students in Kindergarten through 5th grade on days when school is not in session. Trips will also be offered throughout winter break as part of Holiday Happenings. This Winter's trips include indoor waterparks, museums, Lazer Tag and so much more. Students can also spend their break at our Holiday Sports Camp or Ceramic Winter Break Workshops. Registration for Winter trips and Holiday Happenings, Workshops and Camps opens with Winter Registration on November 14th for Residents, and November 28th for Non-Residents.

There are limited spots available for the last School Days Out trip this Fall, Skate & Swim at the RecPlex in Pleasant Prairie
 

Deerfield Dance Studio

Deerfield Dance Studio provides professional dance instruction to students ages three through adult. Housed in Jewett Park Community Center, the large mirrored studio is complete with sprung wood floors for health and safety of the dancers. The Studio's team of professional teachers maintains a supportive, nuturing enviroment for all students. Dance programs range from ballet to jazz, and are offered at various skill levels. View upcoming dance programs in the Winter Program Guide, or contact Adam Wohl for more information.
Chess Tournament
On December 10th, compete against your friends in a round robin chess tournament. You will compete once with every player in your section. Each player must bring their own chess set. Awards are presented to top individuals and teams. This event is open to ages 5+.

 

Indoor Golf Lessons
Golf season may be ending soon, but you can still improve your skills this winter! Deerfield Golf Club & Learning Center staff offers youth and adult lessons indoors at Sachs Recreation Center. Introduce your child to the basic fundamentals of golf in a game oriented atmosphere in our Tiny Tykes and Start Smart Golf classes. Adults just starting to play can take our Beginners Class. LPGA & PGA professionals will teach fundamentals of the gameto prepare you for the spring golf season. View all golf lessons in the Winter Program Guide, or contact Trena at 847-572-2685.

Friday with Friends: Harvest Luncheon

Friday, November 18th, 12:00 PM Luncheon, 1:00 PM Program | Fee: $5.00
Friday with Friends is a monthly community program, where friends of the community and members of the center come together for an enjoyable afternoon program. All are welcome to join for this month's event, celebrating the arrival of Fall with an Autumn themed luncheon, catered by the Deerfield Golf Club's FORE Restaurant and Bar. Cirque de la Symphonie

Wednesday, November 30th, 3:00 PM Departure | $60M/70NM
The Milwaukee Symphony is joined by Cirque de la Symphonie! Their aerial acrobatics will leave you breathless! Aerial acrobats literally “drop” into the Marcus Center. Each gravity-defying feat choreographed to live music performed by the Milwaukee Symphony.  Acrobats—aerialists—contortionists—strongmen—jugglers: all this and more, performing to music above and around the Orchestra, dazzling the eye and the ear. Dinner on your own at the Water Street Brewery prior to the performance. 

Annual Winter Party

Thursday, December 8th, 5:30 PM | $25M/35NM
The Patty Turner Center Members’ Council is proud to present this year’s Annual Winter Party. An elegant evening affair featuring an atrium reception, delicious dinner buffet catered by Hel’s Kitchen of Northbrook and the Big Band dance music of Eddie Harrison and “Paris Swing”! Mark your calendar and plan to join us for this festive celebration.

A New Group Exercise Class is coming to SRC!

Participants of all fitness levels are welcome to attend Warrior 450. This 50 minute high energy workout has participants working “Circuit Style” in groups of 4. TRX and Water Rowers will be staples in this class. Instructors will use other fitness “toys” (Battle Ropes, Heavy Bags, Sandbells…) based on their plan for you that day. Bring your "A Game" every time!

Pickleball for Active Adults

As the season changes and we move to indoor sports and exercise, pickleball offers a great way to stay active. Join us Monday and Wednesday mornings from 9:00 a.m.-12:00 pm. Through December 14.  Play is $6 per day. You may also purchase a convenient 10 visit pass for $60. All Equipment provided.  Activity takes place on Gym A and Gym B at the Sachs Recreation Center.

SRC FitRewards

SRC FitRewards is a complimentary loyalty program that rewards member participation at the Sachs Recreation Center. Members can earn points a variety of ways, such as: visit SRC to workout, attending classes, working with a personal trainer or nutritional counselor, referring a friend to join, renewing an annual membership, etc.  As these points accumulate, members can redeem them online for great prizes like fitness and adventure gear, apparel and more - all shipped free to your door! Plus, members can earn Sachs Recreation Center services such as personal training sessions and guest passes as well as SRC logo wear. All members of Sachs Recreation Center are automatically enrolled into SRC FitRewards. Swim instructors, Lifeguards, and Swim Coaches
We're looking for a swimming teacher who is a lifeguard, or willing to get their certification, to work Monday-Thursday (4-7pm) evenings and Saturday’s (9-3). Responsibilities will involve running a lesson program and coaching with the swim team. Contact jeff@teamcoho.org for details or apply online.
 

Referees for Youth Basketball on Saturdays. 
Deerfield Park District is now hiring individuals to referee our youth basketball games on Saturdays.  The games are between the hours of 9am to 5pm for boys and girls in grades 1 to 8.    You need to have some knowledge of basketball and be able to run up and down the court for 3 to 4 hours.  If interested apply online or contact Jim at 847-572-2627.
