The National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration are investigating the Sunday-morning crash in Calabasas, California.

Bryant and his 13-year-old daughter Gianna, as well as seven other passengers, were killed in a helicopter crash in Calabasas, California on Sunday.

An NTSB official said the descent rate of the aircraft was 2,000 feet a minute, which she referred to as a "high-energy-impact crash."

"People are going to say, 'Take your time and get better,' but it's going to be hard for me," the longtime Laker Shaquille O'Neal said.

Shareef O'Neal also posted a photo of a Kobe Bryant jersey that hangs above his bed, saying: "Right above me every night I go to sleep."

Gigi Bryant, dubbed "Mambacita" after her father, intended to one day follow in Kobe's footsteps and play professional basketball in the WNBA.

The bodies of Kobe Bryant and three others were identified by the Los Angeles coroner's office on Tuesday.

Bryant's helicopter had taken off at 9.06 a.m. PT from John Wayne Airport in Santa Ana, and was travelling northwest towards Mamba Sports Academy.
