This dynamic quartet, led by the innovative guitarist and composer Jay Killman, brings a fresh and eclectic sound that transcends traditional jazz boundaries. Killman’s original compositions blend genres such as swing, indie, blues, R&B, hip hop, and romantic classical, creating a musical journey that is as emotional as it is technically brilliant. |
| The Constellations Quartet—featuring Carlos Garcia on piano, David Canning on bass, and Jon Hill on drums—has been together for nearly a decade. This long-standing collaboration allows each musician to elevate the other, pushing the music to new heights and delivering a captivating performance that resonates with audiences. |

Say hello to Autumn with us in this week’s Mary’s Art Explorers! Mary’s Art Explorers is perfect for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers, though older siblings are welcome to join. This session features a special reading of Goodbye Summer, Hello Autumn by Kenard Pak, in which a young girl adventures through forests and towns saying goodbye to summer and hello to autumn. This story truly captures the magic of the changing seasons. After the story, kids will dive into an autumn-inspired craft.

Join us for an illuminating artist talk with Thomas Sayre and Rachel Lewis Hilburn. They will explore Sayre’s latest exhibition, Four Walls, and dive into the ideals behind his four large-scale installations. Sayre is best known for his monumental sculptures cast from on-site excavations and his current work includes large-scale paintings made from unconventional materials like tar, smoke, and fire.
Rachel Lewis Hilburn, a journalist with a unique ability to connect with others and delve into their creative processes, will bring her expertise to this conversation. Her experience producing and hosting CoastLine, which featured artists, scholars, and innovators, adds a rich layer to this discussion. |

Thomas Sayre: Four Walls features new and never exhibited works by American artist Thomas Sayre (American, b. 1950). Each of the four large-scale pieces installed in Cameron Art Museum’s Hughes Wing engage the belief systems and symbols that underpin the ideals of church, nation, and creation. Made of materials that include tar, smoke, fabric gowns, gunshots, welding material, earth and fire, these works invite visitors to draw close and experience the messiness of making, and by analogy, to bear witness to the ways that life invades, entangles, and tarnishes us. | Learn to hand build your own pots using basic techniques in the first day of the workshop. Return on the second Saturday to decorate the surface with sgraffito. This process involves scratching intricate designs into clay with colored underglazes. This workshop is great for a novice, or a more experienced potter wanting to try a new surface design process. | Printmaking couldn’t be easier than this! No carving, cutting or etching required. Unlike relief or intaglio printmaking, lithography is done from a flat surface using the repelling properties of oil and water. Polyester plates make the process even easier. Drawings or designs can be easily traced or drawn onto the printing plates. Step by step instructions will be given and students will go home with a small edition of prints.
