CAM Staff Spotlight:

Welcome New Staff Members!

Say hello to our newest CAM staff members!

Andy Alvarez and Day Camposeco are our newest Museum Tour Guides, Rachel Sims joins us as Museum Shop Manager, Molly Svizeny joins us as Facility Rental and Events Coordinator, Susan Whisnant joins us as Registrar, and we welcome Kevin Wilson as CAM’s newest Facility Manager. Here's a little bit about each of them:

Andy Alvarez (left) and Day Camposeco (right) join us as tour guides. Andy is a transfer student from Puerto Rico currently enrolled in UNCW for a Studio Art Major and Theatre Minor with an ongoing pursuit of becoming a contemporary artist. Andy enjoys working with kids and college students; she believes that, as an artist, one must teach others to expand and use their artist toolbox.

Day Camposeco is a Visual Arts student at CFCC and has an interest in pursuing teaching. Day has been actively documenting the flea markets in the neighboring counties and submitted a piece from a series into State of the Art/ Art of the State that has gotten some acclaim among the vendors.

Rachel Sims is CAM's new shop manager. An artist herself, Rachel is a self taught glass lampworker, has a BFA in jewelry + metalsmithing from RISD, and a masters in design from The Creative Academy in Milan, Italy. She is a Midwestern transplant to Wilmington.

Molly Svizeny is our new Facility Rental and Events Coordinator. She's a native of Wilmington leaving for a short period of time to pursue her BS in Event/Entertainment Management at Johnson & Wales University Charlotte and MS from University of Southern California. She has done events from big to small and everything in between from having worked in Madison Square Garden to Brevard Music Center to luxury weddings with Asheville Event Co. Email Molly to plan your event today!

As Cameron Art Museum’s Registrar, Susan Whisnant works with the Exhibitions and Collections team planning and implementing a changing exhibit schedule. She communicates with artists and curators, manages loans, and collaborates with marketing. She is an honors graduate of UNC Chapel Hill and previously served as the registrar at The Carter Center in Atlanta, Georgia.

Kevin Wilson joins us as Cameron Art Museum’s newest Facility Manager and joins his other family members working in the nonprofit sector. Kevin considers himself a jack of all trades and began his career in Boston as a graphic designer and went on to become a multimedia event producer. He worked as a pastry chef before a career in community management. He is excited to be working at CAM with caring and wonderful people.

It’s a very busy season at CAM and we are thrilled to welcome our latest group of amazing employees!
