Get ready for an electrifying noche as The Dominican Jazz Project brings their bold, rhythmic sound to CAM! 🌎🎷 This world-class ensemble fuses contemporary jazz with the rich musical traditions of the Dominican Republic and the U.S., delivering an immersive and dynamic performance.


What began as a collaboration at the Jazzomania Jazz Festival has grown into a project that blends contemporary jazz with the rhythmic traditions of the Dominican Republic. Featuring Sandy Gabriel (saxophone), Mayquel González (trumpet), Carlos Luis (guitar/voice), Stephen Anderson (piano), Ramón Vázquez (bass), Guy Frómeta (drums), and David Almengod (percussion/voice), this performance promises intricate melodías, masterful improvisation, and seamless musical conversación between cultures.

Join us in the Pancoe Education Building as we read Marcel’s Mouse Museum by Hannah Abbo, along with the mouse puppet available for purchase at the gift shop!


After the reading, participants will create a story-inspired craft. This is a great opportunity for the whole family!


Mary's Art Explorers is geared towards infants, toddlers, and preschoolers, but big brothers and sisters are welcome to join and create art with us. Your registration includes admission to the museum for the whole day.

Join us as we explore images of people and places that evoke the varied spirit of our community. Beloved familiar works are joined by hidden treasures in a showcase of artistic voices; a collective search for the meaning of home. Elisabeth Chant


Elisabeth Chant (February 7, 2025 – April 27, 2025)

North Carolina artist Elisabeth Chant (1865-1947) made an indelible mark on Wilmington’s art community. She became known for her vibrant landscapes and scenes of the North Carolina coast. Chant also created decorative designs and explored mysticism and spiritual themes, which informed her artistic style. She was instrumental in developing Wilmington’s cultural landscape, founding art classes, mentoring young artists, and establishing a community art association.

This exhibition explores the people and landscapes of Chant’s world.

The Game Changers: Diebenkorn, Frankenthaler, and Rauschenberg

Helen Frankenthaler, Richard Diebenkorn, and Robert Rauschenberg created essential works in the mid-20th century, forever changing what American art would look like and what it could mean to us.


The Game Changers exhibition expands viewers’ appreciation of prints in the permanent collection with the generous inclusion of works by Frankenthaler, Diebenkorn, Rauschenberg, and their contemporaries from renowned American museum collections.

BASKET MAKING

Instructor: Shannon Gehen

Explore the art of creating beautiful reed baskets, a traditional craft that dates back centuries. In this hands-on class, you will learn the various techniques involved in basket-making. You will create up to three unique baskets, utilizing both basic and intermediate techniques, allowing you to enhance your skills and express your creativity through this timeless craft. By the end of the workshop, you'll leave not only with your handmade creations but also with a deeper appreciation for the art of basket weaving.

STREET PHOTOGRAPHY/PORTRAITS

Instructor: Alan Cradick

Explore street photography with your smartphone or camera. In this workshop, sharpen your skills by capturing light in streets and alleys or creating portraits of strangers. By photographing strangers in under a minute, enhance your interpersonal and portrait skills. On Day 1, we meet at Market and Front Streets downtown, and on Day 2, we gather at CAM for a group critique.
