This fall season kicks off on Thursday, August 15 at 7 PM with the Lumbee Tribe Culture Team. The grounds we now inhabit have always told an indigenous story. Join members from North Carolina’s largest tribe as they illuminate that story through song, dance and spoken word.

On Thursday, September 19 at 7 PM we welcome performer Leme Nolan. She will be combining storytelling and song in perfect unison. Showcasing her wide range of musical genres will include gospel, soul, jazz, and more.

Leonard “El Jaye” Johnson joins us on Thursday, October 17 at 7 PM. Johnson is an extraordinary talent and has earned the title of “One-Man-Band”. El Jaye has been seriously involved with music since age ten, and has developed a deep passion for music and the desire to help others to appreciate music’s many benefits.

Thomas Sayre Four Walls

Thomas Sayre: Four Walls

Thomas Sayre: Four Walls features new and never exhibited works by American artist Thomas Sayre (American, b. 1950). Each of the four large-scale pieces installed in Cameron Art Museum’s Hughes Wing engage the belief systems and symbols that underpin the ideals of church, nation, and creation.

Made of materials that include tar, smoke, fabric gowns, gunshots, welding material, earth and fire, these works invite visitors to draw close and experience the messiness of making, and by analogy, to bear witness to the ways that life invades, entangles, and tarnishes us. LearnMore
