Wil Swindler Presents Birth of the Cool
6:30 & 9:00 PM

In 1949, Miles Davis and a collection of like-minded composers gathered together to begin a project that would come to be known as the “Birth of the Cool”. Conceived as a counterpoint to bebop, the predominant jazz style of the time, the group’s music was swinging yet smooth and moody. Join Wil Swindler’s Elevenet to celebrate the “Birth of the Cool” with a rare live performance of this beautiful music, as well as further material from the historic collaborations of Miles Davis and Gil Evans.
